Wishing on...Living Proof!

Hi ladies! I know, you're thinking who the hell is this writing a blog post?! I can't believe how much I've neglected my site over the last couple of weeks and I've missed the world of LLW. Things have been a little busy for me including performing bridesmaid duties at my brother and new sister-in-laws wedding on Saturday. The day went without a hitch, despite the weather being cruel in June, a dress which defied gravity in the wind and a lovely flash of my knickers to many of the guests I'd say it went well...note to self:never let someone put you in a 50's style outfit without checking the forecast beforehand! I'll see if I can rustle up some pictures soon to pop into a post for you (not of the afore mentioned incident) as I was having a good hair and make up day thankfully!

Anyway, down to business and I thought I would ease myself back into the blogging world with a quick 'Wishing on...' post to let you know a product that I've been lusting over lately. The latest on my wish list comes from the lesser known brand Living Proof. Bought to my attention by the lovely Anna this revolutionary product is a primer for the hair! Yep, you heard right, we've all heard of face and eye primers and even one for the lips but hair? The Prime Style Extender claims to extend any hair style for 2x longer than normal, leaving your curls bouncy for days and the frizz at bay. With the added extra of being able to leave longer between washes and I'm sure we all want that to avoid the dreaded hair wash day!

This seems to go on and off the Space NK website every so often and I've nearly nabbed it so many times but I think my self control is running out. At £17 it's not the cheapest hair care product but if it lives up to its high claims I wouldn't give it a second thought. My curls have a tendency to drop out before I've even left the house so could this be my miracle product?

Let me know if you've given this a day. Were you left disappointed or running to Space NK to repurchase?

Hopefully I'll be back blogging even more regularly than normal and banging on about even more beauty goodies.

Trilogy - Rosehip Oil

I hadn't even heard of Rosehip oil until a few bloggers started banding the name around recently, preaching its affects on scarring and claims to leave the skin soft, radiant and all round improved by morning. So, as usual, I trotted of to Boots and hunted down the original formula to see if it made the cut's love.

Trilogys Certified Organic Rosehip Oil is the purest oil you can get. So pure it's the only ingredient in the list and you can't argue with that! There are lots of high claims for this bottle of goodness such as, that it helps to minimise wrinkles, smooth the skin and improve your moisture levels. Also with Omega 3, 6 and 9 to add a few antioxidants and essential fatty acids it sounds like a miracle product, and might just well be.

I've used this for around 6 weeks now and I can't sing it's praises loud enough. First up I was a little hesitant to try it as it is a pure oil which I thought was going to be a nightmare for my acne prone complexion. But not only have I never broken out from this it has helped the odd blemish that I've had recently. Seeming to calm them down and add some much craved moisture instead of drying the skin out.

I have used this most nights and definitely saw a big difference to my skin early on. I do wake up feeling like I'm looking a little bit more brighter and like I've given myself a facial every night. Although this is an oil, using it so regularly doesn't appear to have clogged my pores leaving them congested and battling against it. But one point made online is that this isn't greasy and you can apply this is the morning...who are they kidding?! I use the smallest amount of this leaving my face looking like an oil slick and it doesn't sink in for a good few hours. But I promise by morning you'll be marvelling at your face in the mirror.

Of course the main affect I wanted from this wonder was to show an improvement in my acne scars, and I was not left disappointed. It definitely helps with the redness and using an oil on recent blemishes greatly diminishes the chance of a bad scar! It will stay a staple in my skincare routine for a long time to come as I strive for the perfect base.

At £16.50 for 20ml it seems incredibly expensive but as I said, you only need to smallest amount so it last you a lifetime...almost. Without a doubt my best skincare find this year so far and I recommend heading down to your local Boots and and grabbing the stuff before every blogger gets wind of it!

Shopping in the Sunshine

The last few days something very strange has happened...the sun decided to show its face.  So with everyone in a better mood, a desperate need to fill the fake tan void in my beauty stash and an urge to spend a few pounds I hit the shops!

So apparently I can't seem to do a haul post without including a new pairs of shoes. The latest are from Primark coming in at a grand total of £8. You can't go wrong with a pair of black, gold studded flats and I almost picked up the nude pair but resisted after telling myself I didn't need another pair of nude shoes...possibly.

In a couple of weeks my brother is getting married and I'll be performing my bridesmaid duties whilst having to get my casper legs out. So as not to scare the guests, nor cringe at every photo it was time to raid the fake tan aisle in Boots. First up is an old favourite of mine, Garnier Ambre Solaire - No Streaks Bronzer body mist. I used this a few years ago and it gave a really natural, healthy glow to the skin. Spray it on, rub it in and a couple of hours later you'll be looking like you've just come back from your hols. I decided to get it in medium this time though so wish me luck in not having a Ross from Friends moment!

I've heard good things about the Palmers Cocoa Butter - Natural Bronze gradual tanning moisturiser lately so it went straight in the basket too. Not being a fan of the cocoa butter scent I was a bit reluctant to try it but after a couple of uses it's definitely something I can get used to but too soon to tell yet on it's tanning abilities. Also I managed to snag a bargain in TK Maxx of another of Garniers offerings in the form of Ambre Solaire Wash Off No Streaks Bronzer. Usually over a tenner I picked this up for £2.99 hoping it will add some instant colour that my legs are craving!

Another old faithful that has returned to my life is Maxfactor - False Lash Effect mascara. This used to be a regular repurchase of mine and I still love it. Not clumpy and volumising, what I look for in a mascara. The next few buys were all influenced by one blog or 20! Don't ever say I'm not easily led. L'oreal - Micellar Solution if the first of it's kind that I've tried so there's not comparing it to the infamous blogger favourite Bioderma, but on first impressions it does the job nicely (and getting it free in a 3 for 2 offer always helps). Then there's Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder which has been mentioned far too many times for me to be able to resist any longer. Plus the latest new release, Bourjois - Cream Blushes has done the rounds by every beauty obsessive and now it's my turn. Number 02 - Healthy Glow was the one that I plumped for and so far it does what it says on the tin, creates a healthy glow, but I can't help wanting a little more pigmentation from it.

So I think I covered all bases. Got my summer tan sorted, a few new make up picks to give that summery look, a cleanser to wash it all off and beautiful shoes to pair with some skirts that need to be dusted off from the wardrobe!

Have you tried and tested any of these lovely products? Any recent purchase you've made with the sunshine in mind?
